Inspired By Nature Day Three

Hello!

Here is my outfit for day three of Bella's "Inspired By Nature" challenge. I finally had clothes the color of the picture! So this outfit was the easiest for me to put together. Plus it is perfect for the hot weather we're having this week.

I guess this also falls into Angie's post about gelato inspired tonal ensembles, except I added a navy cardigan. :)

Thanks for looking! Comments and suggestions are appreciated. I'd love to know if you have suggestions for other color cardigans that might work with this romper.

Silk Romper: Rory Beca (via Nordstrom Rack)
Cardigan: J. Crew
Shoes: Clarks
Bracelet: J. Crew

I love the simplicity of this look- definitely spring chic! I'm rather partial to the pop of navy, so I'm having a hard time thinking of alternative cardi colors at the moment.

So pretty! Love the colors and the soft fabrics!

Another beautiful interpretation Ana! You make rompers look very chic!.

For cardigan, cream comes to mind .

Gorgeous! You actually sell me on the romper, no small feat :)! Taking inspiration from the photo and thinking about how orange and purple work so well together, I would suggest an indigo or deep purple as a cardigan color, or a bright violet.

    Beautiful colors together Ana!
The colorblocking in the romper is really pretty and the navy works so well with it! Simple and very chic!

Wow, Ana! I only now realized that's a romper and not a pair of shorts! A very far cry from the last romper *I* wore, but you had my vote at 'gelato' :-p

For other cardigans, dark emerald green comes to mind as well as bright sour lime, both being on the contrast side of the colour wheel. Or maybe a true orange to continue the toning colours? I'd think this would also look very vibrant with a mid-tone, slightly purple-tinted grey. Not to mention with a denim jacket. Or cream lace... Jonesy's already suggested violet, and I'd like to add fuschia or magenta to that as well.

Cute! I like the romper quite a bit :)

Wow, cute romper! I could never wear a romper myself, but you pull it off to perfection and you've got killer legs! Nice color combo with the navy cardigan.

  • Mona replied 11 years ago

i am with Natalie, you have killer legs. The outfit is fabulous.

Okay, WHAT? That's a romper? The fact that it's two-tone totally had me fooled. I love it for this challenge, and how serendipitous that the top and bottom both reference the colors in the picture. You have the fab young figure to really rock this look, Ana!

Gosh, there just aren't that many people who can pull of a romper, but you certainly do - it looks terrific on you!

So cute Ana! Rompers are tricky, but this one is just lovely. As for cardigan/topper colors, you could continue with the gelato theme and go with yellow, lighter orange, red, pink, etc. Could also be fun with mint, blush, creme, white, or taupe.

Ana, you make everything look lovely and effortless.

Really beautiful and impressive in terms of the sophistication of that romper!

    Hi everyone!

Thank SO MUCH for the lovely compliments. I'm blushing! :) And I really appreciate the suggestions of cardigan colors! I hadn't thought of most of the colors you all suggested and I'm very excited to see what I can find. I also really like the idea of pairing this with a denim jacket. I will have to try it. :)

    Stunning, Ana. Model-esque.

  • Kari replied 11 years ago

I had no idea that was a romper! I was just about to say how much I loved your blouse and shorts. Totally cute.

I'm very hungry for gelato now, Ana. :)

  • Joy replied 11 years ago

Ana, you look cute and elegant at the same time. That's a wonderful take on the inspiration photo.

Too cute! Really thoughtful ensemble. Dressing for the heat, but with understated elegance and pops of color. Really nice look.
