French Kiss

I hope it's okay if I post an outfit photo, since I haven't been able to comment much lately. :)

I got these jeans recently. They are the ones I asked about sizing up on a few weeks ago. I'm trying to wear all my pants and sweaters as much as possible before it gets too warm here. The sweater is boxy and cropped (as you can probably tell), and I wasn't exactly sure how to wear it at first. I think it will work best with skirts, but I wanted to see if I could pull it off with pants. I layered a longer tank underneath, but when I left it untucked, it just looked kind of messy to me.

Any comments/suggestions are appreciated. Thank you!

Of course you can post an outfit silly Ana! And this is a beautiful one to post - you look so hip and spring-y! I love the red shoes with the pink skinnies. Very pretty outfit!

  • Ana replied 12 years ago

Haha, thanks Shannon. I hate to just swoop in and post without commenting much first.
: ) Oh, by the way, I finally got the fishbow pumps in the light pink color. You really inspired me with how you accessorized your outfits with them. Plus, your review of their comfort and wearability was so helpful. I'm very excited. Thank you!

You look so springlike and crisp. I love this outfit on you!

Ana i love the way you've got all the colors working together here! Particularly the pink with the red. Now i want spring even more than before! The sweater looks great to me just the way you have it. I had a hard time with cropped sweaters in the beginning too...my suggestion is to just keep experimenting!

I really like the pink and blue together! Those shoes are adorable!
I am sometimes confused on the tucking issue. I often tuck the top and let the back drape untucked..seems to work.

    Puh-lease!
I love these blush pink skinnies on you. I think the boxy top works here, especially with the hint of a semi tuck. LOVE the scarf with it! Nice arty shot of those cool red pumps, too!!

Blush and cobalt is SO pretty on you! I love the bright pumps as well. It's always a treat to see you, Ana! Keep posting when you have time. I love your style!

I love this euro-chic-inspired outfit. So casually sophisticated and breezy. Also, Ana, you have one of the best short haircuts. Really suits you.

  • Sarah A replied 12 years ago

I am inspired by your great look here! Thanks for posting :-)

  • Ana replied 12 years ago

Thank you so much, Mochi! It was very windy today, so it was kind of a struggle trying to keep it in place for pictures. :)

  • Jaime replied 12 years ago

Great outfit! I love the scarf with the top and the jeans fit just right.

I love the pink and cobalt blue together. I'm going to have to keep that color combination in mind. I have a pale pink skirt that I always struggle with.

  • ManidipaM replied 12 years ago

You look amazing! what a way to get those colours to play together. Like Nicole, I'm especially impressed by that pink with that red. Oh, and how fabulous that blue looks on you!

  • Marley replied 12 years ago

This is a great outfit! Love those blush pink skinnies! Where did you get them? Also the striped scarf with the sweater is perfect! Thanks for posting!

Love these colors together.. great outfit. And your hair looks fabulous! LOVE!!

  • Sunita replied 12 years ago

Great outfit...love the pink with red shoes. But that close up is just...wow! Love that shade of blue on you, especially with the playful scarf. And I concur with the rest...your hair is really fab. Makes me want to go short again!

I love the combination of the cobalt blue blouse and scarf, the red shoes, and the pale, pale pink skinnies. I would never have thought of pairing pale pink with red and blue, but it looks amazing! BTW, it doesn't hurt that you have a great haircut, and good bone structure, either - lucky you!

  • sarah replied 12 years ago

Ah, spring. You look terrific, Ana!

  • Debbie replied 12 years ago

You look beautiful. The outfit is perfection!

  • Joy replied 12 years ago

You look lovely, especially in that cobalt blue! The pink feels like a neutral in this outfit and the red pumps seem to balance the saturated blue, if that makes sense.

  • Deborah replied 12 years ago

Ana, post away, I love your outfits. This looks very chic and European. You look so pretty.

  • Katiepea replied 12 years ago

I really love your skinnies and the way you've combine your colours. You look beautiful!

  • AJ replied 12 years ago

So cute! Luv that deep blue color on you! The second pic is adorable. What is the make and model of those red beauties?

  • Jyoti replied 12 years ago

Love the skinnies! Fantastic colour scheme-- you look very ready for spring! xD

  • Ana replied 12 years ago

Thank you so much, everybody! You guys are awesome.

Marley, the pants are J Brand Midrise twill skinny jeans in light pink. I got them from Net-a-Porter during the end of season sale Annagybe posted about a few weeks ago.

AJ, they are the Seychelles Accent. Very comfortable:

Ana, you look classy and sassy! WOW. I adore the pink skinnies with the red heel. Well played.

I think these are going to be super versatile throughout the two seasons you see in Austin-Mild and HOT.

  • Jem replied 12 years ago

Great outfit Ana! I especially love your striped scarf! You always look amazing in your WIW's!

  • Jjsloane replied 12 years ago

Beautiful spring look. I must take notes on wearing a scarf so nicely.

  • Transcona Shannon replied 12 years ago

Ack! You ordered the fishbows? How fab - have you got them yet?

  • Ana replied 12 years ago

    Hi Shannon!

I was finishing up a big project yesterday and I didn't have time to respond to you properly. I'm sorry.

I did receive the shoes and they are very comfortable! I'm excited, because it's difficult for me to find comfortable shoes that are also stylish. It's probably why I don't have that many pairs. Shoe shopping is just not fun for me because I'm rarely successful (it's possible my requirements are too high, too). So I really appreciate all the input you gave me on the fishbow shoes before I ordered them. :) One question--I wore my shoes for the first time day before yesterday, and when I took them off there was some discoloring under the ribbons around the eyelet (if that makes sense). Have you experienced this with your pair? It doesn't show when I'm wearing the shoes, so I'm okay with it, but I don't think it was there before I wore them. Just curious.

Thank you again everyone, for the very kind comments. : )

  • Transcona Shannon replied 12 years ago

Hey Ana - sorry I didn't see your question sooner. Glad the shoes are comfortable for you. I absolutely love mine. I just checked my shoes and I don't have any discolouration around the eyelet at all. That's really strange - what do you think it's from?

  • MsLuna replied 12 years ago

Ana, I love the outfit! Tres chic!!! Love the red shoes!

  • Ana replied 12 years ago

    Thanks, Katie! :)

Shannon, I'm not sure, it was weird. I do have the pink ones though, I think you have the gray? Maybe that has something to do with it. Oh well. It doesn't show because it's under the ribbon, but I'll keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't spread. :)

  • rachylou replied 12 years ago

This is the best outfit! Fresh and accessible.

And you have a really good camera... What clear pics!

  • Ana replied 12 years ago

Thanks, Rachylou! It's actually TX Sarah's camera and photo-taking skills. I can't take any credit for them. :)
